The Reluctant Achiever
Everything looks fine. Nothing feels right. You've achieved what you were supposed to and it isn't enough. You need a new definition of success — and a structure to build toward it.
"Every journey toward an intentional life begins with a single step."
Explore Programmes →Based in Melbourne. Built on HeartMath, ACT, and the science of how change actually happens.
Andy Fox is one of very few HeartMath Certified Trainers in Australia, working with high achievers and executives across Melbourne and online — combining nervous system science with values-based coaching, not generic motivation.
Andy works at four levels most coaching never reaches: HeartMath-certified nervous system regulation, IMMA-accredited mindfulness training, ACT-informed values and identity work, and the practical, structured life design that turns insight into an actual different Tuesday.
This isn't positive thinking with better branding. It's a sequenced approach — regulate the nervous system first, then do the identity and values work, then build the structure to make it stick — because skipping straight to goal-setting is exactly why most coaching doesn't hold.
Based in Melbourne, working with clients in person and online across Australia.
HeartMath's coherence research gives us a fast, measurable way to shift the nervous system out of sympathetic activation and back toward ventral vagal — calm, connected, able to think clearly. That's the foundation everything else is built on.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) gives us the framework for the identity and values work — including untangling Identification with the Narrative, the story you've built about who you are, from who you actually want to be.
Mindfulness, taught through IMMA-accredited training, is the daily practice layer that keeps the regulation work alive between sessions — not abstract "be present" advice, but a structured, teachable skill.
None of this is aspirational. All three are established, studied approaches — Andy is one of very few HeartMath Certified Trainers in Australia, holds IMMA accreditation as a Mindfulness Trainer, and brings the same rigour to the ACT-informed side of the work. Full detail on the research is on the HeartMath and Nervous System Regulation pages.
Decisions stop taking years. The thing you've been circling for months — a job, a relationship, a direction — gets clear. Not because someone told you the answer, but because the noise that was drowning it out finally settled.
You stop having to choose between success and feeling alive. This is the AND Philosophy in practice, not theory: ambition and peace, success and fulfilment. You don't dial down what you want. You stop running it through a nervous system that's on fire.
The old story about who you are loosens its grip. Identification with the Narrative — the "I'm the one who delivers," "I don't quit" story — stops running on autopilot. You get to actually choose, rather than just keep performing a script you wrote decades ago.
It holds on a Tuesday, not just on a retreat. Because the work starts in the nervous system, not just in insight, what changes here is built to survive a normal week — not just the two hours you spent feeling clear in a session.
Everything looks fine. Nothing feels right. You've achieved what you were supposed to and it isn't enough. You need a new definition of success — and a structure to build toward it.
You're in transition — career, relationship, life chapter. The old identity doesn't fit. You need a process to build a new one deliberately, not by accident.
You want to break the cycle. You're watching your children and realising the patterns you carry. This work starts with you — so you can model something different.
High output, low fulfilment. You're optimised on the outside and empty in the middle. You don't need to achieve less — you need it to actually mean something.
The lowest-commitment way to start: one email, every Sunday, written personally by Andy — not "the team." One observation, one idea, one question to sit with. No pitch.
A live 90-minute session with Andy — the best way to experience the actual approach before deciding on anything else.
A smaller, self-paced entry point into the framework — for people who want to start the real work without committing to the full programme yet.
If you do better with people around you, this is it — structured group coaching through the full Self Blueprint framework, with the accountability and shared experience that self-paced work doesn't give you.
The complete methodology, 1:1 or self-paced — from nervous system regulation through to living a designed life day to day.
A genuine 20-minute conversation, not a sales pitch. We figure out together whether this is actually the right fit before anything is decided.
A short assessment that maps exactly where you are across the 8-stage Self Blueprint framework, so the work starts at the right point for you — not at the beginning by default.
Depending on what fits — The First Step, the Live Cohort, or 1:1 through the full Self Blueprint — we start with nervous system regulation before moving into identity and values work.
This isn't a one-off insight. We build the tools and structure for this to actually hold in your everyday life, well after the formal sessions end.
"I went through Stage 3 on a Tuesday evening. By Wednesday I had made a decision I'd been paralysed on for two years. It wasn't dramatic — it was just clear. For the first time, it was just clear."
"Stage 1 alone was worth the investment. I'd been carrying a story about myself that I hadn't examined in thirty years. Seeing it written down, in my own words, was one of the stranger moments of my adult life."
Andy is one of very few HeartMath Certified Trainers & Coaches in Australia — certified through the HeartMath Institute, the organisation behind four decades of heart-brain coherence research.
Andy is also an IMMA-Accredited Mindfulness Trainer, certified through the International Mindfulness Meditation Alliance — an international accrediting body for mindfulness, meditation, and nature connection teachers, run by practitioners across more than 30 countries.
His work is ACT-informed, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy's evidence base for values clarification and psychological flexibility.
The Self Blueprint, Andy's flagship programme, separately holds IMMA Course Approval — distinct from, and in addition to, Andy's own personal trainer accreditation.
Programmes range from $297 (The First Step) through $1,197 (The Self Blueprint, self-paced or 1:1) to $4,500 (the Live Cohort, structured group coaching with full support). The free discovery call comes first either way, so you know exactly what fits before committing to anything.
Both. Andy works with clients in person across Melbourne and online with clients anywhere in Australia (and internationally) — the approach is the same either way.
It depends on the entry point. The First Step is self-paced over roughly two to four weeks. The full Self Blueprint, worked through properly, typically runs eight to twelve weeks before the next stage of independent practice begins.
Most life coaching starts with goals and mindset. This starts with nervous system regulation — using HeartMath's evidence-based methods — because goal-setting on top of a dysregulated nervous system rarely holds.
No. The Stage Assessment exists precisely because most people start without full clarity. Part of the early work is figuring out what you actually want, separate from what you've been told you should want.
